BEYOGLU is a region located on the European side of Istanbul, Turkey, by the Golden Horn. It was called Pera (means “Across” in Greek) during the Middle Era, and the name remained in frequent use until the early 20th century and the founding of the Turkish Republic.

Found on Istiklal Street in Beyoglu, the Saint Antoine Church (San Antonio di Padova) is on the left half of the road if you are confronting from Galatasaray towards Tünel. Development started in 1906 and the congregation was finished in 1912. Its draftsman, Giulo Mongeri, who was conceived in Istanbul, provided for it an Italian Neo-Gothic style. Today it is Istanbul ‘s biggest church with the busiest assembly and is controlled by Italian ministers. The Church was implicit a yard. The Galata Tower called Christea Turris by the Genoese, is a medieval stone tower in the Galata/Karaköy quarter of Istanbul, just to the north of the Golden Horn. One of the city’s most striking landmarks, it is a high, cone-capped cylinder that dominates the skyline and offers a panoramic vista of Old Istanbul or Constantinople and its environs.The nine-story tower is 66.90 meters tall and was the city’s tallest structure when it was built in 1349.
